Disability Self-Advocacy
OSAC is the voice of disability self-advocacy in Oregon. We advocate for the equal rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We fight for self-determination and full inclusion in society. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
We develop programs to help further the advancement of people with disabilities. Our goal is to impact legislation affecting people with disabilities.
We aim to be the model self-advocacy coalition in the disability community.
Our Members
OSAC’s members are local self-advocacy groups led by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are committed to OSAC’s purpose and mission.
What is Self Advocacy?
Self-advocacy is the ability to:
- Know yourself
- Know what you need
- Know your rights
- Speak up for yourself
- Make decisions and take responsibility for them
- Choose the life you want to live
